Illiano (owner/chef) launched Cafe Baklava February 20th, 2005 with the simplest of goals, to bring delicious Turkish cuisine to Mountain View's thriving Castro Street area. After all, it was Illiano's family tradition of over three generations to create and serve great food. Keeping the family tradition, Illiano came to America where he worked in many fine Mediterranean restaurants along the Bay Area peninsula.

It was hard work building the right kitchen, deciding on the ideal menu and selecting a hard working staff. The simple Cafe ambiance and inviting patio setting lured curious customers to see what this little place was all about.

In no time at all, Cafe Baklava's wide selection of wine and foods, the perfect Patio combination on a warm evening, revealed the variety and freshness of Turkish foods.

Illiano makes sure the staff takes their time with each customer, providing a truly classic dining experience. At at the same time, the staff is encouraged to adopt a uniquely friendly and fun-loving approach to the service of each diner. Most of all, Cafe Baklava is dedicated to providing the best Turkish food in town!
